Prosolia Energy and InfraVia Form Strategic Partnership to Accelerate Global Growth in Clean Energy

For immediate release – November 14, 2024

Valencia/Paris, November 13, 2024 – Prosolia Energy, one of Europe’s few leading Independent Power Producers (IPPs) operating in both distributed generation and utility-scale markets, has entered into a strategic partnership with InfraVia, a prominent European infrastructure investor, to accelerate its international expansion and strengthen its position as a provider of clean energy to industrial companies. Prosolia also reconsolidated its utility-scale PV activity by acquiring the shares held by partner Capenergie 4 (a fund managed by Omnes Capital) in their joint venture Prosomnes, which they co-developed since 2020.

Prosolia Energy is a vertically integrated clean energy producer, specializing in innovative solutions that help clients decarbonize their operations and enhance competitiveness. The company currently oversees a portfolio of circa 343 MW in both distributed generation and utility-scale projects, either operational or under construction, and is actively developing more than 3.7 GW of new projects across Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Germany.

Prosolia is set to transition from a leading IPP platform to a full-spectrum energy solutions provider for industrial clients. By leveraging its large industrial client base and utility-scale capacity, it will offer a comprehensive range of on-grid production, behind-the-meter solutions, and integrated energy management services to deliver reliable and sustainable energy.

As part of this agreement, InfraVia has acquired a majority stake in Prosolia International, the parent company of Prosolia Energy. InfraVia will inject significant capital to support Prosolia’s global business plan and expansion efforts.

Furthermore, as part of its strategy for European development, Prosolia will acquire the significant minority stake held by Capenergie 4, an investment fund managed by investment firm Omnes Capital in Prosomnes. Prosomnes is a joint venture established in 2020 to develop large-scale photovoltaic projects across Europe. Prosomnes currently has close to 212 MW of operational or under-construction projects, with an additional 1.8 GW under development.

Prosolia’s founder-led management team will retain a significant stake in the company and will continue to lead its next phase of accelerated growth, leveraging InfraVia’s expertise and financial backing to expand into new international markets and scale its clean energy portfolio.

“This agreement provides fresh impetus for expanding our business as an Independent Power Producer into new markets and reinforces confidence in our long-term vision for the renewables sector. We welcome our new partner, InfraVia, and look forward to achieving new milestones together as we drive the global energy transition alongside our clients.”
Javier Martinez
CEO of Prosolia Energy
“We are thrilled to welcome Prosolia into the InfraVia family. This marks our second investment in renewables this year and demonstrates our commitment to creating leaders in renewable energy to support the energy transition. We are excited to partner with Javier Martinez and his team, who possess both vision and a proven track record, and to support them in this new chapter of development.”
Bruno Candes
Partner, Infravia
“We are proud of having supported Prosolia in its transformation from developer to a leading IPP in Iberia and France since 2020. Our partnership has allowed the company to accelerate its growth in the utility-scale PV market and build up a significant asset base. We are happy to now pass the baton and allow the company to tackle the next growth phase on its trajectory. This journey fits perfectly with our strategy to partner with best-in-class European developers and support them in their transition to become leading IPPs”
Benjamin Stremsdoerfer
Partner, Omnes
